Grace had an aversion to swearing that Rocky couldn’t understand - which was frustrating since obviously Rocky had wanted to learn every Eridian curse word under the sun after they’d learned to communicate. It was an overall stupid and inconsequential thing, but he was just itching to hear him let loose a squeaky, frustrated fuck.
Rocky added that to his ever growing mental list of things he wanted to do with him: get Gracie off so good he finally said fuck.
Rocky was confident in his abilities to make it happen.
He’d be the best damn lay Grace ever had, actually. Alien species, be damned. Rocky was nothing if not adaptable and teachable; he aimed to please. He’d do whatever necessary to aid his best friend in succumbing to absolute bliss. It was a little ridiculous how fast that had become his new life’s mission.

Summary
Grace's webbed hands press against the glass, his curious chitters surprising the young man standing next to the viewport he was observing from. He’s newer on the team, Grace jogs his memory for his name again.
The young man holds his hand to his chest, breathing a sigh of relief, “Oh hey, Grace. Come to see your new neighbor?”
He nods, chirping his burning question, “Who is it?”
“Dunno,” Chris, right, that’s his name– “It’s another mer.”
(Or, Rocky and Adrian are helped by a merman named Grace, and in turn they save him. Now happily living in the Erid Marine Rehabilitation & Research Center, Grace is surprised when another injured merman named Simon is brought to recover in a neighboring tank. Perhaps, these two lost souls may finally have a home, together.)

Grace was a chemistry guy: his world was provable and predictable. Every quantum physicist that Grace knew had a wild-eyed, pulling-my-hair-out kind of energy, so it felt like a very bad sign that the most grounded explanation for Simon's presence here might be "wormholes."
Grace knocked his glasses off his nose to scrub his eyes, leaving them dangling from one ear. Talking to Simon had given him more questions than answers. What else could he observe about the man? What were the objective facts?

Summary
The stars are dying. The Eridians and Humanity sent out their best, to find an answer, to save their suns. But those Eridians still on the planet find something else, a space where the stars have already died, where life starts anew. In the hopes of finding answers from the life in the dead zone of space, they send out a small team and they rescue the first human they've ever seen, a dying mutation trapped on a moon of blood. What they drag back to Erid is something they cannot understand but will do anything they can to. When Grace, dying of malnutrition and scurvy, lands with Rocky, they learn that even the basic necessities that they were giving their prisoner were killing him, but now they've got a variable who can at least tell them how their experiments affect him.

Now, nearly a decade and a half later, it’s time the pair lay to rest whatever the secret third thing was that still plagues them both.

Summary
Ryland Grace saved Earth, he saved Erid. He was supposed to die a hero somewhere between the stars.
Or at least he should have, if not for a certain Eridian who has taken a great offense to the short, finite nature of human life. Instead of cherishing the limited time left, Erid reworked the foundation of what was considered scientifically possible—they found a way to turn their resident alien into an Eridian.
But operating a whole new body-plan is not as easy as it may seem.
